ABOUT THE MAADKiNG

Born and raised in Kailua on Oʻahu, Asaiah Scott, known professionally as The MAADKiNG, is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer creating genre-blending roots music from Hawaiʻi.

His sound draws from conscious roots reggae, lover’s rock, island soul, R&B and hip-hop, pairing cultural perspective and social commentary with melody, live instrumentation and an accessible island groove.

The MAADKiNG has served as direct support for Maoli, toured the continental United States alongside Cas Haley and New Zealand reggae group L.A.B., performed on guitar with Maoli and Fiji, toured as bassist for the Paul Izak Trio, and performed throughout Hawaiʻi and the Pacific as a member of The Vitals 808, and serves as guitarist for international reggae artist Irie Love.

He currently maintains recurring engagements at several of Maui’s leading resorts and live-music destinations while completing his forthcoming ALL WAYS EP through MAADMEDiA Inc.

Direct Support - Maoli's 2021 The Breakthrough Tour

Served as direct support, opening as The MAADKiNG before performing guitar during sets by Maoli and Fiji.

Tour Support - Maoli Music Overload Tour

Performed as The MAADKiNG featuring Dorian Green across 14 western U.S. cities, appearing immediately before Cas Haley during the first half of the tour and before New Zealand reggae group L.A.B. during the second half.

Paul Izak Trio - Selected U.S. Dates (Bassist)

Toured as bassist in the Paul Izak Trio, including East Coast dates, Floyd Yoga Jam in Virginia, Hawk and Hawthorne in North Carolina, and Shangri-La Music Festival in Minnesota.
